Our MD and Principal Consultant, Russell prides himself on remaining a personal source of contact for each and every Greenborough client, ensuring the needs of the project are delivered to the highest standard by the team.
Russell has worked for over 30 years in a number of business environments, from multi-national plcs, right through to start-ups. He has worked in both private and public sectors, and, almost uniquely, has spent more than 14 years at the interface between the two.
He has developed and managed a number of successful businesses, both for himself, and others, and relishes a challenge.
Current roles, in addition to laeding Greenborough, include CEO of the East Midlands Incubation Network, Midlands Regional Manager for Angels Den, regular speaking engagements, and as a retained business advisor to a number of SME businesses and public projects.
He is a keen supporter of Wasps Rugby Club and, whisper it quietly, Nottingham Forest. Oh, and gin!
Michelle is our Head of Business Development, charged with leading on the identification of new funding streams and for driving our marketing and business development activities. She is the energy and expertise behind our strategic relationships with funders and innovative businesses, and acts as the link between the two.
Michelle has worked in the public sector for over 12 years and joins us following a highly successful career with the University of Lincoln. Michelle was responsible for helping secure external funding income for commercial research and knowledge transfer activities along with developing long term strategic partnerships.
An able horsewoman (being a former one day eventer), who has a penchant for all things gin flavoured.
Specialities: Innovate UK, ERDF, LEP grant funds, bid support, funding application, bid development and curation
Straight talker, go-getter and awesome cracker of poor jokes. Really. They’re terrible!
Paul is our Business Manager, responsible for the delivery of our business support programmes and for ensuring that we meet our contract objectives.
A natural salesman (he can talk for England!), his diverse background covers retail, financial services and healthcare insurance.
The team’s in house comedian, Paul joined the team in 2013 and has proven himself to be very adept at plate spinning (managing multiple projects). Only 2 things compete with work for Paul’s attention – his 2 young daughters and the Rolleston Under 11’s football team (conveniently, also sponsored by Greenborough!)
With significant experience of marketing, coordinating projects and arranging events for publicly funded programmes, Fiona is the perfect person for this job.
She has experience of working in both the public and private sectors and, helpfully for this role, at the interface between the two. She worked on the Food and Drink iNet project in the East Midlands for 6 years, before her move to Lincolnshire.
Fiona has a passion for marketing, however her true love is cats, especially her own spoilt pedigree, Loki! She also volunteers for her local Cats’ Protection branch.
Organised. Organised. Organised. What more can we say?!
Jan is the glue that sticks the team together (extra strength adhesive required on those early Monday mornings – sorry Jan!). With oodles of experience in business administration (both for her family business and for others), she is the safe pair of hands that ensures that the rest of us can do our jobs so well.
Jan is often the first point of contact for email and phone enquiries, as well as responding to business support enquiries from EMIN and its clients, so make sure you say hi when you give us a first call!
Stuart has recently joined the Greenborough team as our Innovation Manager, leading the content of our innovation support programmes. He has vast experience (his words not ours) in helping businesses to innovate to drive productivity. He also works with a significant number of graduate start-up businesses.
He is also a former nightclub manager and is our go-to man for parties!
Chloe is the baby of the team, having recently joined as an Apprentice (but not in the nasty Alan Sugar sense of the word!).
Chloe helps organise our administration systems from our Derby office.
Since she’s not old enough to drink yet, we are all hoping that she passes her driving test and gets a car soon……designated driver!
