COMMEND GREENBOROUGH FOR ITS EXCELLENT WORK
Bill Cullen
Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council
Using robust research methodologies and the latest statistical and demographic information we effectively map demand and evidence market failure; from science parks to grant funding we have successfully completed feasibility studies for a wide variety of projects. Our expertise and resources allow us to objectively and rationally uncover strengths and weaknesses of a proposed venture.
When asked by Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council to assess the feasibility of converting the Atkins Building in Hinckley, a 4,000m2 former hosiery factory into a Creative Industries’ Innovation Centre, our assessment of demand discovered the need for a mixed use, with dedicated space for creative artists but also with meeting and performance space, a cafe and - importantly - commercial office space. This thriving centre, and creative community, opened in 2010 and business there is positively booming. Further information on this can be found by visiting www.atkinsbuilding.co.uk
Bill Cullen, Deputy CEO at HBCC said "I would like to commend Greenborough for its excellent work in undertaking a feasibility study and putting together a robust business case for the Atkins Centre, Hinckley which opened it’s doors for business in September 2010. This work has helped greatly in realising the Council’s ambition for delivering a cultural enterprise centre in the heart of the new cultural quarter being planned for Hinckley Town Centre. It forms a key part of our ambitious regeneration strategy for the Town Centre. A testament to the confidence that we were able to take from the expert work undertaken by Greenborough is that the Atkins Centre is almost fully let . This is a tremendous achievement given the economic conditions nationally and the fact that the construction scheme was only complete in July 2010."
Other examples of Feasibility Studies include:
Sleaford Centre for Enterprise, for North Kesteven District Council
National Physical Laboratory Innovation Centre
